Paul Shadrake, PE, Joins CTE

Paul Shadrake, PE

Paul Shadrake, PE, has joined CTE as a Senior Project Manager for the firm’s Chicago Wastewater-Stormwater Group. He brings significant experience to this dynamic division of CTE’s Environmental practice – most notably, his previous experience with helping to pioneer a citywide computer model for the City of Chicago’s combined sewer system, and his valuable collection system planning and design expertise.

A 20-year veteran in the water, wastewater, and stormwater engineering industry, Paul’s new role will include mentoring young engineers, as well as expanding CTE’s project management capabilities throughout the Midwest.

“Our clients are faced with complex issues that revolve around wet weather, combined sewer overflows, and restoring water quality,” says CTE Vice President Don D’Adam. “Chicago and the Midwest are no exceptions. Essential to helping clients solve these issues is staff that can creatively balance hard engineering and complex system modeling, with environmentally-conscious and sustainable technologies. Fortunately, we’ve found that creative balance and expertise with Paul.”

Prior to joining CTE, Paul served as a Project Manager for CDM in Chicago. A published author and frequent presenter, he is also active in the American Water Works Association, American Society of Civil Engineers, and the Water Environment Federation.

“I have spent most of my professional career helping the City of Chicago and other clients in the Chicagoland area address the challenges of wet weather flow management,” Shadrake says. “I see a real opportunity, here, to complement the talented staff at CTE and make a difference in the continuing efforts to improve and enhance our environment and the waterways of one of the greenest cities in America.”
